A Message from the Principals

While it feels like Spring is already here, Middle School students and staff have been busy making progress on teaching and learning with students recently having completed their Winter diagnostic assessment. Staff uses this data to reflect and continue planning as we complete the end of the third quarter.

Spring conferences are scheduled for March 7th, be on the lookout for more information to connect with your students' teachers at the Middle School.  And, as always, feel free to reach out to your students' teachers at any time as we continue to work together in making progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

Can't make It? You can view the Board Agendas and Minutes at BoardDocs.com HERE.

Safety Update

During the month of February the Middle School conducted a medical hold drill.  An example of a medical hold could be for an injury, an allergic reaction, or possibly someone not feeling good.  Staff and students continued teaching and learning while the short “medical hold” was performed.  Next month the Middle School will conduct our spring ALICE drill.  More information on this will be coming soon.

State Forward Exam

Wisconsin State Assessments take place during March and April.  Similar to the prior years, the Middle School will run a modified schedule to accommodate testing schedules.  In addition, the students will be provided a light breakfast before taking the assessments in the morning.  Testing dates are as follows:

2024-25 Open Enrollment

2024-25 Open Enrollment

The inter-district public school Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside or to remain in their current district in the event that they move out of the district before the start of the 2024-25 school year (Moving? See HERE for more information on remaining in the District through the school year). Open Enrollment will allow student(s) to continue attending school in the School District of Sheboygan Falls. Please call Lisa Berg at 920-467-7893 for additional information or check the Department of Public Instruction Website at: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment (also check the 2024-25 Open Enrollment Regular Application Period Brochure).

There is no tuition cost for students participating in the Open Enrollment program, but parents are responsible for transporting their student(s) to and from school.

The open enrollment period for the 2024-25 school year is from February 5th until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2024.

Applications must be done on the DPI (Department of Public Instruction) website at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment. A link to this site will also be available on the school web site during the application period at: www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us. The DPI website will be active from February 5th until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2024.

If you anticipate a possible move out of the School District of Sheboygan Falls, please complete the Open Enrollment application as soon as possible. You have the right to cancel your application at any time and are not bound to enrollment. If you are currently attending under a Tuition Waiver, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment application for the upcoming school year.

A Message from the Nurses - Cyberbullying Awareness

Cyberbullying is the use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person. Online threats and mean, aggressive, or rude texts, tweets, posts, or messages all count, as does posting personal information, pictures, or videos designed to hurt or embarrass someone else.  According to the Pew Research Center, "nearly half of U.S. Teens have been bullied or harassed online, with physical appearance being seen as a relatively common reason why."  Older teen girls are especially likely to report being targeted by online abuse overall and because of their appearance.
