A Message from the Principals

A Message from the Principals:  Click Here to Translate

Happy February!

We are so proud of all of our students for their hard work this year! A big milestone that happens in February is the 100th day of school! The growth from September 2nd until now is so awesome! Be sure to compliment your child today for the hard work they are doing!

Academic Milestones: Math & Literacy

The hard work is paying off! We have seen significant measurable growth in both math and literacy across all grade levels since the start of the year.

  • In Math: Students are showing a deeper "number sense" and a newfound confidence in tackling complex word problems.
  • In Literacy: Our focus on phonics and comprehension is showing in our improved reading fluency scores.

Building Wide Success:

Being Safe: From the playground to the cafeteria, students are making mindful choices to keep themselves and their friends out of harm's way. When a reteaching or review of rules needs to occur, staff work hard to provide on demand lessons and changes to support learning and expectations.

Being Respectful: We’ve witnessed so many "small wins" lately—students holding doors, using kind words during disagreements, and showing genuine empathy for one another.

Being Responsible: We are seeing a fantastic increase in students taking ownership of their learning, keeping their workspaces organized, and arriving ready to work.

This progress is a team effort. Your support at home is a direct contributor to these success stories.

Conflict, Mean Moment, or Bullying?

We’ve been working hard with students to identify the differences between conflict, mean moments, and bullying. This checklist is used when students are working through incidents at school to help reflect and determine next steps for situations.

Thank you for being our partners in education,

Jen & Jess

Safety Update

In February, the Elementary School held a fire drill. Did you know the introduction of fire drills is partially credited to Edward F. Croker, the Fire Chief of the New York Fire Department from 1899 to 1911. We hold fire drills to ensure and practice safe and orderly protocols to exit the building in an expedient manner.

REMINDER:  Open Enrollment 2026-27

The inter-district public school Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside or to remain in their current district in the event that they move out of the district before the start of the 2026-27 school year (Moving? See HERE for more information on remaining in the District through the school year). Open Enrollment will allow student(s) to continue attending school in the School District of Sheboygan Falls. Please call Lisa Berg at 920-467-7893 for additional information or check the Department of Public Instruction Website at: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment (also check the 2026-27 Open Enrollment Regular Application Period Brochure).

There is no tuition cost for students participating in the Open Enrollment program, but parents are responsible for transporting their student(s) to and from school.

The open enrollment period for the 2026-27 school year is from February 2nd until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2026.

Applications must be done on the DPI (Department of Public Instruction) website at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment. A link to this site will also be available on the school web site during the application period at: www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us. The DPI website will be active from February 2nd until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2026.

If you anticipate a possible move out of the School District of Sheboygan Falls, please complete the Open Enrollment application as soon as possible. You have the right to cancel your application at any time and are not bound to enrollment. If you are currently attending under a Tuition Waiver, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment application for the upcoming school year.

Note from Nurse

SDSF Renewal of Project Adam Heart Safe School Designation

In January, we conducted an Emergency Medical Drill at each of our school buildings.  Our Medical Response Teams consist of staff members who volunteer to serve on the team.  The team members go through training annually with the school nurse, and learn to respond to many different emergency medical scenarios.

This year we focused on responding to a sudden cardiac arrest.  Orange Cross Ambulance also participated in the drills, and responded to each location.  The teams did an excellent job of following the protocols we have in place to keep our students, staff, and community members safe.

We were also able to renew our designation as a Project ADAM Heart Safe School.  This is attained by schools upon successful implementation of a quality sudden cardiac arrest program of awareness, training and effective emergency response to promote a Heart Safe environment for students, visitors and staff as outlined within the Heart Safe School Checklist.  We renew our designation every 3 years.

Thank you to all of the Emergency Medical Response Team staff members, the Sheboygan Falls Police Department, Orange Cross Ambulance, and Emergency Medical Service volunteers for everything you do to care for our students, staff, and community members!

Stay healthy!
