A Message from the Principals

February 25th, 2026

Hello Middle School Families,

The 2nd semester is in full swing, and with the last week of February upon us, spring is just around the corner. The Middle School would like to invite you to our Showcase Night on Thursday, March 5th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to see learning come to life and interact with our Middle School curriculum. Walking tacos will be available for $5.00, with all proceeds benefiting our transportation budget for learning opportunities outside of the school environment.

Next month marks the beginning of state testing; our 8th graders will begin testing before spring break, followed by the rest of the student body afterward. We encourage you to have conversations with your children regarding the importance of these upcoming assessments. They serve as a valuable benchmark to see where students are in regard to grade-level expectations. Furthermore, this provides Sheboygan Falls an opportunity to showcase our dedication to education and the high-quality teaching and learning that takes place daily, as these results contribute to our School and District report cards. More information and reminders will be shared as testing dates approach.

Thank you for your partnership in education.

Ryan & Lindsey

Ryan Zak, SFMS Principal

Lindsey Schreurs, SFMS Associate Principal

REMINDER:  Open Enrollment 2026-27

The inter-district public school Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside or to remain in their current district in the event that they move out of the district before the start of the 2026-27 school year (Moving? See HERE for more information on remaining in the District through the school year). Open Enrollment will allow student(s) to continue attending school in the School District of Sheboygan Falls. Please call Lisa Berg at 920-467-7893 for additional information or check the Department of Public Instruction Website at: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment (also check the 2026-27 Open Enrollment Regular Application Period Brochure).

There is no tuition cost for students participating in the Open Enrollment program, but parents are responsible for transporting their student(s) to and from school.

The open enrollment period for the 2026-27 school year is from February 2nd until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2026.

Applications must be done on the DPI (Department of Public Instruction) website at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment. A link to this site will also be available on the school web site during the application period at: www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us. The DPI website will be active from February 2nd until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2026.

If you anticipate a possible move out of the School District of Sheboygan Falls, please complete the Open Enrollment application as soon as possible. You have the right to cancel your application at any time and are not bound to enrollment. If you are currently attending under a Tuition Waiver, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment application for the upcoming school year.

SDSF Renewal of Project Adam Heart Safe School Designation

In January, we conducted an Emergency Medical Drill at each of our school buildings.  Our Medical Response Teams consist of staff members who volunteer to serve on the team.  The team members go through training annually with the school nurse, and learn to respond to many different emergency medical scenarios.

This year we focused on responding to a sudden cardiac arrest.  Orange Cross Ambulance also participated in the drills, and responded to each location.  The teams did an excellent job of following the protocols we have in place to keep our students, staff, and community members safe.

We were also able to renew our designation as a Project ADAM Heart Safe School.  This is attained by schools upon successful implementation of a quality sudden cardiac arrest program of awareness, training and effective emergency response to promote a Heart Safe environment for students, visitors and staff as outlined within the Heart Safe School Checklist.  We renew our designation every 3 years.

Thank you to all of the Emergency Medical Response Team staff members, the Sheboygan Falls Police Department, Orange Cross Ambulance, and Emergency Medical Service volunteers for everything you do to care for our students, staff, and community members!

Stay healthy!
